Revamped and amped

"Pussyfoot" 13"x15" acrylic on wood panel

This is a flick from a series of paintings I did last year. Originally I had these weird graffiti looking shapes in the background. The more I looked at them the less I liked 'em, the background kind of took away from the animals. I love painting graffiti and it will always be a part of my life, but I'm not sure if I want to incorporate it into my fine art. I feel it already has it's place. Anyhow, I originally wanted to paint the background stark white to intensify the negative space, but Nina suggested that I add some Carolina blue. I really like how they turned out.
